Intellectual Property Rights
Intellectual Property Rights for Our Shopify Store
As a recognized seller on our platform, you benefit from the strong reputation, goodwill, and inherent value associated with our brand and product trademarks. It’s crucial to not only use these trademarks correctly but also to help protect them by adhering to our guidelines.
Below are the important rules and guidelines that must be followed when using any of the trademarks owned by our company. These rules apply to all forms of advertising and promotional materials related to our products.
1. Domain Name and Web Pages
You must not register or use any domain name that is confusingly similar to or contains any trademarks owned by us. Before using any trademarked content on your website, including logos or product names, you are required to submit your web pages for prior approval. This ensures that we can verify proper usage and avoid any potential misuse of intellectual property.
2. Paid Ads and Trademark Use
You are not allowed to purchase our trademarks through search engine advertising programs such as Google AdWords, Yahoo, or any similar services without our written consent. Using our trademarks in paid advertising campaigns can create confusion, and it is important that these marks are not used in ways that could mislead potential customers.
3. Trademark Reproduction
All of our trademarks must be used exactly as provided by us. If you have access to camera-ready artwork for any of our logos or product trademarks, these must be reproduced faithfully. Modifying or altering our trademarks can lead to confusion or damage to the brand.
4. Business Stationery and Branding
If you plan to use our logo on business stationery, including business cards or letterhead, you must include the phrase “Authorized Dealer” after the logo. This ensures clarity that you are an authorized reseller of our products. We will provide the specific artwork for use in this instance.
5. Proper Identification of Your Business
The identity of your business must be clear and distinct. The name of your business should be the most prominent identifier on your website and promotional materials. Our logo should not be the only identifying mark. Additionally, the Case-Mate logo should never be placed at the top of your page without your business name being clearly visible.
6. Separation of Logos
The Case-Mate logo should not be combined with any other company’s logos in such a way that they appear connected or associated. There should always be enough space between logos to distinguish them as separate entities.
7. Adherence to Brand Guidelines
When using our trademarks, it’s essential that you follow any specific Brand Guidelines we have provided. This ensures that the trademarks are always presented consistently, maintaining their distinctiveness and value.
8. Symbols of Trademark Protection
All trademarks must display the appropriate symbol (™ for trademarks, ® for registered trademarks, and SM for service marks) next to them in all printed materials. On every page or document where our trademarks appear, the first use must include the symbol in superscript format. Our trademarks must be treated with prominence, whether through capitalization, bolding, or italics.
9. Unapproved Use
If you intend to use any of our trademarks in a way not outlined in these guidelines, you must seek prior approval from us. Please submit any requests for approval to your assigned representative, and ensure that all uses of our intellectual property align with our standards.
